"Phosphorescent is set to make his first start for Guadalupe Preciado on Friday at Pimlico. From a numbers perspective, we fit very well in this race. Lupe really thinks this horse's future is on the lawn, and that this race will give us a better read if Phosphorescent can compete in the allowance ranks this summer. He has been training well, and his last win came sprinting on the turf. The five furlong distance should suit him very well.
There is a decent amount of speed in the race. We will likely be close to the pace, but we do not necessarily want to be on the lead as Phosphorescent seems to like targets sometime. Live The Dash will likely flash some early speed. He is exiting a win at the $25k claiming level over this course on May 2nd. He is a bit of a question mark, as he wheels back in 12 days. Beboping Lion comes out of the same race on May 2nd, where he finished 2nd. He should be just off the pacesetters. He has been unsuccessful in the allowance ranks before, and will need to show a great improvement to be competitive here. El Commodore is a true speed horse. He broke his maiden last time out at Tampa going 5 furlongs on the turf. Oh My Me My ran well over the lawn at Pimlico last time out, but has been facing much softer competition. I Can Do It may show some speed as well. He is coming off a second place finish in the same type of spot, in which he was 33-1. He may be hard pressed to duplicate that effort. Super Chunky has knocked on the door at this level before, but has not been close in his last two. He also has been off since January.

We have top rider Ramon Dominguez aboard. Lupe will let him see how the race unfolds. We won't necessarily try to outsprint the field. If Phosphorescent runs similar to his first race off the layoff at Fair Grounds, he is very capable of beating this group. There are no standouts in the field."
