Race Analysis

Phosphorescent is set to return to the allowance ranks in an "a other than" allowance going five and a half furlongs on the turf today at the Fair Grounds. Phosphorescent steps up after scoring easily in his turf debut last time.
Once again, Phosphorescent drew an inside post. He is going to need to scrape the rail again to run well here. Based on speed figures, Phosphorescent looks poised to run big again. There is not an abundance of speed in the race. Michael's Trifecta will likely show the most speed. Phosphorescent should be toward the back half of the pack early. If the trip unfolds like we hope it will, we'll advance on the turn and look to assume the lead in midstretch.
The second race back off a layoff can induce a bounce, but Phosphorescent won pretty easily with something left last race. Dale would have liked to have had an extra week or so between races, but this looks like an excellent spot.
