TDR Updated

Click here for a pdf chart and running line. The Defense Rests did not break well and had to rush up from his inside post early in the MSW at Monmouth. He remained in fourth just over a length back after a half-mile but flattened out in the stretch to finish third beaten five-lengths.

Mike Hushion said, "David Cohen said he thought he had a chance to win on the turn, but the horse just flattened out. We scoped him after the race and discovered that he had a significant amount of mucus in his trachea. That can cause a horse to come up empty. We'll knock that out. Horses will run more like you expect when you clear that junk out of their lungs."

The Defense Rests earned a 75 Beyer in the race. Mike reports that he will give The Defense Rests a few days of antibiotics and keep him off the track. This should knock out the congestion, and we should be ready to run back in the first half of July.
