Brave Monarch settled into H. Graham Motion’s barn at Palm Meadows. He jogged the past few days and has started galloping each morning. Graham took a look at his pedigree and agreed with our analysis that it makes sense to try this colt on the turf. The plan is to breeze him on the grass early next week.
Maria’s Mon was the nation’s 16th leading sire of turf runners in 2010. Click here to see the complete list.
The Defense Rests had full shoes put back on his front feet yesterday. Kip said, “It looks like we are over that minor foot flare up he had a few weeks ago. He trained this morning in the new shoes and I was very pleased with how he moved in them. I breezed him a super easy five furlongs over the weekend and plan to work him a swifter half mile later this week or over the weekend.” The Defense Rests remains on target to ship back to Mike Hushion within the next few weeks.
Phosphorescent continues turnout at Dr. Baker’s farm in Kentucky. Doc plans to x-ray him within the next 1-2 weeks. We’ll have a better idea of when he can return to training after this next evaluation.
Mr. Fantasy remains turned out in a paddock during the day before coming into the barn at night. Dr. Baker plans to x-ray him within the next 1-2 weeks. We are just about 3 months into the projected 4-5 month out of training period. We’ll have a better idea of when he can return to training after this next evaluation.
