Updates

Brave Monarch worked an easy four furlongs in 52:02 (47/47) on Saturday morning at Belmont. Mike said, “Don’t be alarmed by the slow time. I had him go nice and easy since it was his first official four furlongs in while. I’ll press on him for more speed in next week’s breeze.” A debut before the end of the year at Aqueduct remains viable.

The Defense Rests
*Been galloping very strongly each morning at Kirkwood
*He’s come along a little quicker than Kip anticipated. Accordingly, he is scheduled to resume speedwork with an easy breeze through the lane on the farm. This is good news.
*We’re going to get him up to Mike’s barn at Belmont early next week.
*Upon arrival, he will walk the shedrow for a day or two to acclimate to his new surroundings before heading to the track.
*When will he return to the races? That’s hard to say exactly right now, but based on our experience, we estimate end of January/February.

Phosphorescent will begin IRAP therapy later this week.

Mr. Fantasy
*Had second PRP treatment over the weekend. Stall rested for two days and is back outside each day in the dry lot.
*Dr. Baker will perform IRAP therapy this week.

  1. Glad to hear Mr. Fantasy is progressing well through his therapy. He looked great when I saw him at Fairlawn Farm two weeks ago and was moving nice. Nice that he gets paddock time. He is the nicest colt.

  2. Best of luck to Mr. Fantasy and looking forward to seeing him back on the track. If he were to retire now, does he have stud value given his impressive record and speed?

  5. Yes, I did see Phos but only in his stall as he was still on stall rest. He was handling it very well and is a nice colt!

Was glad to be able to see Mr. Fantasy in the paddock when we arrived as we were able to see how nice he is moving.

I'm so happy to see your response to Alan that Mr. Fantasy could be a NY stallion. Please, please, please keep him in the States....okay, that's my only request as his biggest fan. He is a wonderful colt.

I really like the connection West Point Thoroughbreds has with Fairlawn Farm as a layup facility. Nice caring folks there.
