Withers Day

What a great day the weather was beautiful the racing was good . Tina & I did well had some early exatas and a nice $148 pick 3 .
Down in the parade ring Mr Fantasy looked in much better condition was not sweating up so much but he was acting up not wanting to be saddled Artie had to walk him around and try to saddle him on the move when Mig got up he walked around with lead horse and calmed down a lot . he was a little unsettled in the starting gate got away a little awkward but steadied and settled into a nice pace then around the turn into the straight he pulled away and made it look easy . What a wonderful ending to what has been a sad few weeks with the passing of Tin Cup . hoping he comes out in good shape and look forward to moving onto bigger things .

  1. Congrats again. The acting up a little is fine. Tin Cup always did that too..it was the sweating out that was bad. Thats the sign they are expending energy the little agression just shows they are ready. I am so Happy for you guys. Go for the Preakness. You can try the Met mile next year, the preakness is only this year and he belongs. The fastest horse wins the Preakness. It's alot different then the derby.

  2. I'm a little concerned about Migliore's comments on the temperament issues in the drf article posted this evening. Thinks the colt would do a melt down in front of a crowd like the Preakness. I'm guessing these antics will improve with maturity but is this a real issue right now? By the way, I think Migliore is great on Mr. Fantasy!

  3. He was acting up in the parade ring and when trying to be saddled but once he was and walked around for awhile he calmed down and when Mig got him he seemed calm . He was not sweating up his coat looked really nice . Something i have noticed is there are a couple of handlers that walk him before and after the race and he always appears calmer with the second handler . Mig seems to be a great fit for him and hopefully we will be moving onto the Preakness
