Updates

Mr. Fantasy came out of his smashing performance in the Withers on Saturday in great shape. Kiaran said it's the best he's ever come back from a race. He earned a 102 Beyer in the race and couldn't be doing any better. There are lots of options for this talented three-year-old going forward and Kiaran and Terry will be discussing all of them in the very near future.

Phosphorescent continues to train very well. He is scheduled to return to the worktab in the next couple of days, weather permitting. Unfortunately, there are no mile races on the turf for him, so Dale was weighing his options as to where Phos would be making his next start. There is a race going a mile and a sixteenth. Dale is deciding how far he's willing to go.

The Closing Argument Colt, now known as The Defense Rests, continues to do well down in Florida. This big, strong colt is scheduled to ship up north next month

  1. I listened to the interview kiaran did on At the Races and it sounds like things are going great. have to see how things settle out after the Derby to see if The Preakness is a go I guess. He said the Big Apple Triple was still a possibility. I have to admit it would be pretty neat to see him sweep that. Imagine brothers doing that in back to back years?

  2. Well does that Derby help your chances for the Preakness? Probably if I want Revenge and Quality Road are still on the mend. What is your time frame for a decision?

  3. We should know early this week he missed some training on weekend due to weather . The boss is asking for feedback from readign through his letter its sounds like the partners are pushing to go but there are still doubts about how he will act infront of such a large crowd will keep you posted

  4. If I could throw my two cents in...I know I said before to try the Preakness, but I think you should try the Met Mile instead. I know it's older horses but the older horses are not that great this year. It's on his home turf the familiar surroundings will be more soothing. That is a stallion maker race, if he wins, which I think he will, his value will go way up.

Conversely though, while a large crowd will not help, I think the primary reason he gets worked up in the paddock is the horses not the people. He knows he is getting ready to race and is just getting excitted but not much you can do bout that. It will get better with experience.
