Updates
Phosphorescent breezed an easy four furlongs in 49:00 on Sunday at Philadelphia. The work was not recorded by the clockers. Lupe is thrilled with how this horse is training. If all things were equal, Lupe would prefer to run in the stake at Penn National over the allowance race at Saratoga. He thinks we will fit very well in the stake, and could always come back in the “three other than” later in the meet at Saratoga if we do not win. We have a chance to get a stakes win into this horse, and don’t want to let the chance pass us by. Lupe plans on talking to the racing secretary on Saturday to get an idea of how the field is shaping up for the Pennsylvania Governor’s Cup then make a decision
Mr. Fantasy worked three furlongs in 37:80 at Belmont over the training track on Sunday. Mike reports that Mr. Fantasy went very nicely. His ankles puffed up a bit after the work, but Mike is not overly concerned. This is just something that we are going to have to manage moving forward. Mr. Fantasy arrived in Saratoga and is set to work back next week. It is still too early for Mike to firm up a race target.
Maria’s Mon colt worked a quarter mile in 25.00 in company with Haystack Needle on Sunday. Both went very nicely. This colt arrived in Saratoga, and will work three furlongs over the surface next week.
We watched him train this morning and looks great. He is very professional and eager to train
The Defense Rests is handwalking daily at Stonewall. He will begin daily turnout in about three weeks

Phos News
"Some of you might have seen Phosphorescent pop up in a race on Tuesday at Philadelphia. We are not running in that race. Lupe entered Phosphorescent to help get the race to fill for his other horse in the race because the race was not used last week.
We will still run on either the 30th at Saratoga or 31st at Penn National. Lupe talked to Ramon Dominguez's agent earlier this week, and Dominguez has a tentative call in the race at Saratoga. However, much like us, that horse might instead run at Penn National. Lupe called Ron Anderson, Garrett Gomez's agent and is trying to secure a commitment from him so that we are not scrambling.
We wanted to make sure you did not get confused by the entry on Tuesday."

Updates
Phosphorescent worked five furlongs in 1.01:02 at Philadelphia. The work was 8th of 26 at the distance. Phosphorescent went by himself and Lupe was very pleased. This was a good "tune up" breeze. We are sticking with the same plan from last week’s update. We are going to enter the "three other than" allowance going 5 ½ furlongs on the turf on July 30th at Saratoga. We will handicap the field and decide whether or not to enter the $200,000 Pennsylvania Governor’s Cup going 5 furlongs on the turf on July 31st at Penn National. Regardless of where we go next, it sure looks like we are in for a fun summer with this horse.
Mr. Fantasy is set to work back over the weekend and will ship to Saratoga on Monday. Mike reports that we will look to run in the second half of August at Saratoga. He has not picked out a spot yet, and will take a look at the second condition book once it comes out in a few weeks
The Defenses Rests begins handwalking at Stonewall Farm later this week
Maria's Mon colt worked an easy quarter mile in: 27 on Tuesday at Belmont. Mike was pleased with the effort and said "He looked very good coming down the lane." The areas on his legs where he had the skin reaction look good. He is set to work another quarter mile on Sunday before shipping up to Saratoga on Monday. Once he arrives in Saratoga, he will likely breeze three furlongs. Mike did say that there is a chance this colt could make the end of the Saratoga meet, which ends on September 6th

Updates
Phosphorescent is doing well. Lupe nominated him to the $200,000 Pennsylvania Governor's Cup going 5 furlongs on the turf on July 31st at Penn National. We take a look at that spot as well as the "three other than" allowance on July 30th at Saratoga. We would enter on July 26th for the race at Saratoga, and July 28th for the stake race. So, we could potentially enter both races and handicap them to see which spot is more logical. We would also factor in the weather forecast, as we do not want to run if the races are taken off the turf.
Mr. Fantasy breezed an easy three furlongs in 38:26 at Belmont this morning over the training track. The rider did not ask him for too much speed since it is so humid and also since it is Mr. Fantasy's first work back since the Decathlon Stakes. Mike reports that he went well and cooled out fine. He is still a little bit tender where he grabbed himself in that last race, but the sores are healed enough that we can continue training.
The Defense Rests had a routine week at Stonewall Farm. He will be on complete stall rest for one more week before starting a handwalking regime for a month. After this time, he will be turned out in a small paddock for about two weeks. The vet will then reevaluate him and take x-rays to see if the hairline fracture is healed. We are hopeful that after this two month period he can go back into training. It all depends on the horse. Some take less time to heal, some take more, but the vet at the track was quite confident that in two months he will be as good as new.
Maria's Mon colt developed a skin reaction on his legs that caused him to miss three days of training this week. He went back to the track yesterday and jogged. He will resume galloping by the end of the week. Since we are missing about a week of full training, there is an outside chance we will make the Saratoga meet. Realistically we are looking at an early fall start at Belmont.

Updates
Mr. Fantasy continues galloping and Mike's assistant Graham reports that his cuts are 90% healed. He may resume breezing as early as next week.
The Defense Rests shipped to Stonewall Farm on Sunday and settled in well.
Maria's Mon colt breezed a quarter mile in 26 on Friday at Belmont. He continues to progress nicely, and will likely work three furlongs by the end of the week. Mike planned on breezing him three furlongs last week, but wanted to get one more solid quarter into him before doing so.
