New Mares

We spend the day at the frozen outpost of Highcliff Farms on Saturday the phase 3 of the Flying Zee Dispersal sale  we came away with 2 young mares both in foal to Cosmonaut  which we hope can be good producers and have some fun at the sales .

the first was Hip# 5  Bellameister  she is going to Cape Blanco instead of Six Zeroes

2nd  Hip#36  Mythical Yarn    she is going to Parading 

2012 looking like 2011

Some very sad news Six Zeroes was found dead on the farm this afternoon from either a heart attack of massive internal trauma . She was 2 months away form giving birth to Midshipman foal and was booked to Cape Blanco
 after all that happened last year with the racing stable this is just another upsetting continuation

Pedigree Notes

Galileo is shining with the ROBERTO line, notably siring the 2011 ‘King George’ winner Nathaniel and the Irish Derby second Seville from daughters of SILVER HAWK. He has also sired Group winners from daughters of KRIS S., LEAR FAN and RED RANSOM, plus the South African star Igugu from a grand-daughter of RED RANSOM. Cape Blanco should thrive with mares from this line too.


Galileo’s classic winner Sixties Icon is from a DIESIS mare and these mares are an interesting option for Cape Blanco as they would produce 4x3 to Diesis’ dam Doubly Sure.

Weekend in S.C with Marketfrontrunning

Pictures and videos from Kirkwood Stables in Camden S.C  . Marketfrontrunning is looking well is growing nicely and appears happy and playful  . Kip says she is training well but a little behind the rest of the class and talking to other staff they adore her she is has a sweet nature and the exercise rider comes back and asks to ride her , and after being broken she took steps backwards bu tin the last 2 weeks she has really come along into her own
